How do I restart RouDem?
If your MiWire is in a reachable position you can press the - button: Switch off and allow RouDem to stand until the light in the
- button stops blinking. Then switch the button on again.
If the RouDem is placed so that you cannot reach the - button, you can restart it on the “Admin” page of MiWire’s user interface (192.168.2.1) by selecting “Restart device”. You can connect to the user interface via WiFi or via a cable from the power adapter to your computer.
If this doesn’t work, remove the lead from the power supply 3 times.
How do I upgrade to the most recent software?
MiWire RouDem updates to the latest software on the last Sunday in the month between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Alternatively, you can download new software from MiWire’s home page and install it in your device via the “Admin” page on MiWire’s user interface.
Why is the status indicator lamp red?
If not, it is because RouDem has not located a sufficient number of satellites and the device must be moved out so that it has a free “view” upward.
• Check if the “Mobile Network” indicator is green?
• If the indicator is yellow, this is because it is not connected to a mobile network. This may be resolved by moving the device outdoors and up, so that it has a free “view” 360 degrees around.
• If the indicator shows red this is because there are problems with the data subscription. Contact your telecoms operator/ network provider if the problem persists. Check if the SIM card indicator is green?
• If not it may be because the SIM card is not placed correctly. Try removing the SIM card and putting it back again. Why can’t I access RouDem’s user interface (192.168.2.1)?
• Make sure your computer is connected to RouDem via a cable (Ethernet) or WiFi
• Make sure your computer is configured to automatically fetch an IP address and DNS server address
• Restart your browser or try using another browser
• If possible, try using another device with WiFi, a smartphone, for instance.
What is MiWire RouDem?
MiWire RouDem allows you to enjoy high speed internet, even if you don’t have access to a landline or fibre connection. This means you will typically be able to stream movies and surf the net without delays. MiWire RouDem creates an internet connection, via the mobile network, that is 4-10 times stronger than the connection you get with a mobile phone or mobile modem. Is this the right solution for me?
If you live in a location without good internet alternatives such as fibre-optic or other good mobile service, then MiWire RouDem can very probably help you.By how much does MiWire RouDem increase data speeds?
Typically by about 4-10 times, from zero data connection to 10-15 Mbit/S - compared to a regular mobile phone. Why is MiWire RouDem’s antenna directionally determined?
A directionally determined antenna works a little like the parabolic reflector (dish) in a car headlight. It concentrates the signal that is being sent and works like an “ear trumpet” when receiving. What is mobile broadband?
Mobile broadband is a data connection that is established through a telecoms operator’s wireless network, in contrast to a fixed connection that is established via a copper or fibre-optic cable that has been laid underground. It is the same technology that is used in mobile phones but with 4-10 times greater data speeds. Can I check the speed of my current internet connection?
Yes, you can use an app called speedtest.net that is available for both smartphones and computers. By using speedtest.net on your smartphone and standing outside a little distance from the building you can get an idea of whether it is 3G or 4G coverage. Can I check if MiWire will work at my location?
Yes, you can use an app called speedtest.net that is available for both smartphones and computers. By using speedtest.net on your smartphone and standing outside a little distance from the building you can get an idea of whether it is 3G or 4G coverage, by running a speed test. If the speed test can be completed (try at various points around the building), MiWire can create a good data connection that will typically be 4-10 times faster. What might prevent me from using MiWire RouDem?
MiWire RouDem can be used pretty much everywhere in Denmark but there may be places where there are other and cheaper solutions. We will usually be able to advise you based on your location and consumption. What influences the mobile broadband signal?
The signal is heavily affected by trees and buildings and the distance to the nearest mast. Therefore, MiWire should ideally be placed outdoors and in such a way that the directionally determined antenna has a free “view” to the mast it is connected to. A completely unobstructed line is rarely possible but you can get very good results if you avoid having MiWire’s antenna pointing at a nearby wall. Use the green LED lamp (that indicates in which direction the antenna is pointing) to find the best placement. Clear weather is best for the signal, while damp and rainy weather will make the signal worse. Is there a guarantee for internet speed?
The speeds that can be achieved depend greatly on the signal conditions/factors, that is, the presence of trees and buildings and distance to the nearest mast, but also to a great degree on the available capacity of the mast you connect to; this capacity can fluctuate greatly over the course of a day or week. This capacity is usually used for TV and video streaming so there will be heavier loads during periods with lots of indoor activity, that is, during bad weather, in the evening and at the weekend. What does MiWire supply?
MiWire delivers a fully functional modem with inbuilt battery (8 hours of use), an inbuilt WiFi router, a mounting bracket that fits a Ø38 mm pole, a POE adapter that can both charge and power MiWire at 230V, and a 10m CAT 5 cable. The POE adapter can also be connected to an external WiFi router.Who owns the antenna/MiWire RouDem?
We sell MiWire RouDem in exactly the same way as a regular telephone or TV and it belongs to the purchaser 100%. If I move, can I take MiWire RouDem with me? You can bring MiWire anywhere, in the same way as a mobile phone, for instance, and it can run for up to 8 hours on battery with normal usage. How long does my right to return a purchase last?
MiWire is sold in compliance with the general terms and conditions applicable to all consumer purchases. You can read our sales terms and conditions at www.miwire.net.Can I install MiWire RouDem myself?
Yes, MiWire can, for example, stand on a table and will work just fine. MiWire can also just be attached to a Ø38 mm pipe/rod and mounted where it is easiest relative to the user’s location; this is recommended for short-term use, for example, on brief holidays at a summer house, in a camping van or boat. But optimal functioning is achieved the higher MiWire RouDem is placed above ground level and you should always try to place the device above roof level to gain an unobstructed line to the mast you connect to.What if I receive broken goods?
